The Carmen Thyssen Andorra Museum and the Ull Nu Festival have launched "Fora del Marc," a new competition for micro-short films aimed at creators under 30.
The initiative encourages participants to select a work from the Carmen Thyssen-Bornemisza Collection—featuring artists such as Juan Gris, Henri-Edmond Cross, Ramon Casas, Jean-Louis Forain, Fritz Freund, Ricard Canals, and Narciso Méndez Bringa—and reinterpret it through an original audiovisual lens. Entries can take any format, including cinema, video art, or animation, with a focus on personal creativity.
Organizers aim to bridge plastic arts and modern audiovisual language, while nurturing emerging talent and sparking interdisciplinary dialogue. Charline Bony and Martí Pons, representatives from the museum, described the project as a way to "generate fresh perspectives on the collection and strengthen exchanges between disciplines within the festival." Marc Camardons and Hector Mas, co-directors of Ull Nu, called it "a unique chance to highlight micro-short films and local talent."
Registrations are open from January 26 to April 24, 2026. Selected works will screen during the 13th Ull Nu Festival in Andorra la Vella from May 20 to 24, 2026.
