Disney+ has unveiled the first trailer for *Malcolm: de mal en peor*, a four-episode comedy miniseries reviving the iconic early-2000s family sitcom *Malcolm in the Middle* more than two decades after its finale.

The series premieres on 10 April, bringing back nearly the entire original cast. Bryan Cranston reprises his role as Hal, alongside Frankie Muniz as Malcolm, Jane Kaczmarek as Lois, Christopher Kennedy Masterson as Francis, Justin Berfield as Reese, and Emy Coligado as Piama. The only major holdout is Erik Per Sullivan, who played young Dewey in the original run; that character will now be portrayed by Caleb Ellsworth-Clark.

The plot kicks off with Malcolm, estranged from his family for over a decade, returning home with his daughter for the 40th birthday party organised by his parents. The reunion spirals into the chaotic family dynamics that defined the show’s 151 episodes, all of which remain available to stream on Disney+.

New faces join the ensemble: Keeley Karsten as Leah, Malcolm’s daughter; Vaughan Murrae as Kelly, his younger sister; and Kiana Madeira as Tristan, his partner.

Linwood Boomer, creator of the original series, returns as writer and executive producer. Ken Kwapis directs all four episodes.
