Two establishments in La Seu d'Urgell have reported vandalism attacks involving eggs thrown at their facades, with owners linking the incidents to targeted aggression against progressive cultural spaces.

La Llibreria El Refugi, located on Carrer dels Canonges in the town's historic centre, filed a complaint on Monday after unknown individuals targeted its frontage overnight on Sunday. Staff at the bookshop told Ràdio Seu that a similar incident occurred just days earlier at the Ateneu Alt Urgell on nearby Carrer de Capdevila, also in the historic district.

In response, El Refugi has organised a protest gathering outside the shop on Wednesday at 8pm. The owners described the attacks as deliberate rather than random, characterising them as assaults on "transformative, community-oriented, cultural and popular spaces with a clear ideology". They emphasised that these venues aim to foster critical thinking, mutual support and neighbourhood life.

The bookshop's statement rejected any intimidation, pledging to continue "opening doors, books and debates" while upholding its cooperative and anti-fascist ethos. They expressed gratitude for support received from individuals and groups in the community. Police have not yet provided details on suspects or motives.
