Encamp's local council awarded €3,450 in prizes on Monday morning for the sixth Christmas window and decoration contest, recognizing winners across six categories from 54 entries in Encamp and Pas de la Casa.

The prizes went to standout displays in ground-floor shop windows and storefronts, interior commercial spaces, restaurants and bars, buildings and chalets, and two hotel categories for communal and exterior areas. First-place winners received €450 in the commercial categories and €250 in the others, with second places at €300 and €150 respectively.

In ground-floor shop windows and storefronts, D’votion Shop took first prize (€450), followed by Expo & Deco (€300). La Reserva Blanca SL earned top honors (€450) in interior commercial spaces, with Âme du Pain in second (€300). Gir Café won first (€450) among restaurants and bars, ahead of Signum (€300). For buildings and chalets, Casa Narcís secured €250, and Aurora Casadevall's chalet received €150. Hotel Guillem claimed first in hotel communal areas (€250), with Apartaments El Meligar second (€150); it also won the exterior hotel category (€250), followed by Hotel Yomo Petit París (€150).

Organized by the Comú d’Encamp, the contest sought to promote the parish's businesses through festive decorations, attracting residents and visitors during the peak Christmas shopping season. Judging considered creativity, design, innovation, environmental suitability, originality, lighting, recycled materials, detailing, and visual impact, per the contest rules.

Cònsol Major Laura Mas, Finance, Sports and Economic Reactivation councillor Nino Marot, and Tourism and Economic Reactivation director Anna Canals presented the awards. Mas thanked all participants for their efforts in beautifying the parish. Marot highlighted the council-provided Christmas wreath available to entrants, urged more businesses to join next time, and encouraged winners to promote wider involvement.
