Escaldes-Engordany Library Sees 93.7% Surge in Adult Event Participation in 2025

The Escaldes-Engordany Municipal Library ended 2025 with a 93.7% increase in adult participation at events, talks, and presentations, rising from 442 participants in 2024 to 856.

A total of 15,001 users visited the library's reading and study areas over the year. This included 10,177 visits to the adult space—a modest rise from 10,082 the year before—and 4,824 to the Little Readers area for children, down slightly from 5,222 in 2024 but still reflecting strong, steady demand. The adult area's growth further establishes the library as a vital hub for academic study and work, especially among teenagers and university students.

Municipal officials credit the surge in adult event attendance to an expanded programme of activities, supported by partnerships with the Escaldes-Engordany Art Centre (CAEE) and Espai Caldes. These collaborations delivered supplementary talks linked to exhibitions at those sites, enhancing cultural offerings and promoting exchanges across disciplines.

Book loans held steady in both adult and children's sections, signalling continued user engagement. Catalan titles remained the most borrowed, followed by Spanish and, to a lesser degree, French—a trend seen in both spaces.
