The government has awarded a €191,947.85 contract to Construccions Neu SLU to adapt an annex of the former Hotel Rosaleda in Encamp to house services of the National Archives. The works are scheduled to take five months, the government spokesperson Guillem Casal confirmed.

The intervention completes a relocation process for the Ministry of Culture that began in 2020 and aims to consolidate the ministry’s departments and areas within the same premises to improve coordination and facilitate joint projects. The archive will be installed in the annex space that until September housed the Centre de Català; that centre was moved to the former Hotel Hermus in Encamp, a property owned by the government that has also hosted other initiatives, including an affordable‑housing project.

According to ministry sources, the National Archives will occupy the ground floor and the three upper levels of the annex and will share meeting and consultation rooms with the National Library. The collections to be housed include key national documents such as the original Manual Digest, copies of the Politar Andorrà, historic council minutes, tribunal records and extensive photographic holdings numbering in excess of 100,000 items.

The contract award and timetable formalise the final phase of the long‑running move of Culture’s services to the Rosaleda complex, ensuring archive facilities are co‑located with other cultural services in Encamp. Construction works will adapt the annex to meet the archival and public‑consultation needs of the institution.
