Veteran Andorran band Hysteriofunk is marking its 30th anniversary with a spring tour and a new studio album set for release in 2027.

The group, formed in 1996, plans to kick off the tour on April 18 at Hostalets de Pierola, with dates still being finalized—including a hoped-for show in Andorra. Later this year, the five members will head into the studio to record their eighth album overall, or seventh studio effort if excluding the 2021 live recording with the ONCA orchestra and La Jonca at the Auditori.

Frontman Oriol Vilella said the band has six hours of improvisations already captured as raw material. "We're working on something quite calm right now, not as funky as we once thought," he noted. "We won't know the final shape until it takes form—maybe we'll circle back to familiar paths."

The album's title remains undecided but will follow the band's tradition of two-syllable, flat-accent words, a pattern started with their 1999 debut *Random*. That came after *Juanjo* (2004), named for sound engineer Juanjo Alba; *DECO* (2013); *Forma* (2016), featuring texts by David Gálvez; and *Arnes* (2021), inspired by Gálvez's short stories. The live album, *Directe*, was a long-held dream realized with orchestral backing.

Hysteriofunk began as four friends—Vilella, Lluís Cartes, Roger Casamajor, and Òscar Llauradó—who debuted in March 1996 at a Girona record collectors' fair organized by Jordi Tardà. It evolved from earlier projects like Escldes Fusió and La Profunda Histèria, with Cesc Vilarrubias joining soon after. The members, now in their 50s, still juggle busy schedules, including Casamajor's acting commitments in productions like *La buena letra*, *Mikaela*, and *Hamburgo* last year, plus upcoming roles in *Un hombre en un puente* with Belén Cuesta and *Agrestes* by Bárbara Farré.

Vilella reflected on their enduring bond, likening it to friendships from youth that few recapture after three decades and seven albums. Covers and vocal experiments remain on hold as they prioritize original material.
