Ordino and La Massana parish councils have joined forces again to host a new edition of the Mountain and Travel Film Cycle, a well-established cultural event celebrating mountains, adventure, and the spirit of exploration.

This year's programme features five talks, a photography exhibition, and five film screenings, shared between the two parishes. Organisers praise the format's success, with a loyal audience drawn to stories from intrepid adventurers. "The idea is simple: protagonists with a spirit of overcoming challenges share their experiences and take questions from the public," said Mònica Solé, councillor for La Massana parish. "It's a formula that's working very well." Mònica Armengol, Ordino's culture councillor, added: "We're delighted with the format and its very faithful, consistent public."

In La Massana, five talks will take place over four evenings at Teatre de les Fontetes. The line-up begins on 28 January at 9pm with travel photographer Ray Vüilsen discussing "Travel Photography: In Front of the Mirror," offering a personal perspective on the world beyond landscapes. A double session follows on 4 February: Elisenda Ortega on "Travel Notebooks: The Art of Travelling by Painting" and Aurora Baena on "Visual Beehives: Relationships Between Art and Travel." Christian Mossoll speaks on 11 February about "Transpir, an Adventure of Nature and Friendship," an Andorran-born tale of intense emotion. The series closes on 25 February with pilot Ramon Vallès on "Between Clouds and Earth: A Life Flying," sharing aerial views that dissolve borders and reshape views of humanity.

A photography exhibition, "Images Without Borders," by members of the Valls del Nord Photographic Association, will run at the Antoni Morell municipal library from 20 January to 31 March.

Ordino hosts the five screenings at ACCO while work continues at the National Auditorium, all starting at 9pm and free with no reservations needed. The programme opens on 26 January with Sergi Ricard's "The River of Seven Names," a poetic journey along the Mekong reflecting on slowness and mountain life. On 2 February, Stefano Floreanini's "The Only Survivor" examines climate change's impact on Montasio glacier. A double bill on 9 February features "Border to Border" and Ángel Artigas's "Nordic Skiing at Latitude 70," set in Finnish Lapland. It ends on 23 February with Pau Costa's "21 Nevados," an extreme mountain bike expedition through Peru's Andes.

La Massana's budget is around €4,500, while Ordino's totals about €6,000.
