Nearly 2,000 children and young people visited the first leg of Andorra's 31st Saló de la Infància i la Joventut at Encamp's Complex Esportiu i Sociocultural, representing about a 10% increase over last year's edition.
The four-day event, which concluded over the weekend, averaged roughly 500 daily visitors excluding accompanying adults, Encamp youth technician Nelson Damas reported. Attendance started slower on the opening day amid the holiday bridge but climbed steadily, reaching around 700 on the final day. Organisers said the figures met or surpassed expectations, with some sessions hitting maximum capacity to ensure smooth delivery of activities.
Satisfaction surveys delivered strong results, which Damas rated as "excellent" overall. Most participants were Andorran, led by locals from Encamp and including visitors from other parishes—such as a group of 40 children from Canillo on the last day. Tourists from Spain and France added to the numbers, especially on Saturday and Sunday.
Key draws included the new 7D cinema, introduced as a pilot that ran continuously with 200 to 300 daily screenings. Families also praised a sensory performance designed for babies aged 0-3. The outdoor 6D cinema drew about 200 visitors per day, with sessions lasting 3-4 minutes for groups of 5-7. The lineup served ages 0-17, leaving attendees highly satisfied.
Damas described the outcome as "extremely positive," highlighting the fair's evolution into a nationwide event beyond Encamp. The Saló now moves to Pas de la Casa from 2-4 January, where lower turnout is expected but the core programme will adapt to local spaces. Some outdoor features, like inflatables or arcade machines, may stay behind, though most activities will transfer.
