Ull Nu Festival 13th Edition Headlines Los Voluble's Flamenco-Electronic *Jaleo is a Crime*

The 13th edition of the Ull Nu Festival, running May 20-24 in Andorra la Vella, features Seville brothers Benito and Pedro Jiménez of Los Voluble headlining with their audiovisual show *Jaleo is a crime*. The performance, set for 11pm on Friday, May 22, in Plaça del Poble, merges flamenco experimentation, electronic music, creative hacking, and sonic activism. It positions flamenco as a space for innovation, hacking as a creative tool, and voice as a force for cultural mixing and impurity. Image, rhythm, and action converge to explore culture's ongoing evolution and its links to daily life. The event receives backing from the Spanish embassy in Andorra.

Los Voluble have spent over two decades blending remixing, live cinema, digital folklore, and political video remix. Their 2019 project *Flamenco is not a crime*, debuted at the Nîmes Flamenco Festival, delivered an unconventional lens on flamenco, nightlife, and electronics, leveraging screens for critical narratives and hidden perspectives. Notable works include *Borderhack* on borders and migration, *No Media Detected* probing media structures, and the video mapping *La hipoteca de tu vida*. They have produced clips for artists including Pony Bravo, María José Llergo, and Califato 3/4, and worked with creators such as Raúl Cantizano, Rocío Márquez, and Niño de Elche. More recent output encompasses *.nomedia* (2021) with Juanjo Fernández, the *Raverdial* flamenco set at Sónar with Niño de Elche, and *El 92 cava con todo* (2022). The duo has performed at venues like Seville's Flamenco Biennial, New York Flamenco Festival, and Monkey Week.

Albania serves as guest of honour, with programming developed in partnership with the Tirana Film Festival and Albania's National Centre of Cinematography to celebrate 30 years of diplomatic relations with Andorra. Prominent delegates—Agron Domi, director of the Tirana Film Institute and Tirana Film Festival; Jonid Jorgji, president of the National Centre of Cinematography; and Majlinda Tafa, head of international policies and promotion—will engage in professional meetings with Andorran institutions to promote cultural exchanges and new collaborations. Screenings at the Andorra Congress Centre will highlight Albanian films including *An Untold Story* by Sara Hoxhaj, *The Champ* by Ermir Keta, *Sheets* by Evi Gjoni, and *Burri* by Artur Dauti, focusing on alternative cinema and fresh audiovisual approaches.
