#MiradesAigua Exhibition Opens in Andorra la Vella Highlighting Water's Vital Role

The #MiradesAigua photography exhibition opened on Monday afternoon at Illa Carlemany shopping centre in Andorra la Vella, featuring 19 images that capture diverse perspectives on water's importance as an essential resource.

Organised by Andorra Sostenible in collaboration with Illa Carlemany and the Madriu-Perafita-Claror valley, the display forms part of events for World Water Day, observed on Sunday 22 March. It seeks to raise environmental awareness through citizen involvement and remains open to the public until 29 March.

During the opening, visitors can cast votes for their favourite image, which will decide one of two winners alongside a jury's choice. The jury includes representatives from Andorra Sostenible, Illa Carlemany, the Environment and Sustainability Department, and the Madriu-Perafita-Claror valley. The winners will be revealed on 31 March.

Sílvia Ferrer, director of the Environment and Sustainability Department, called for collective reflection on water during the inauguration. She highlighted Andorra's advantageous position in terms of water availability and sanitation, contrasting it with United Nations figures showing 1.8 billion people worldwide without access to safe drinking water. The exhibition reinforces Andorra Sostenible's efforts to highlight water's value and encourage its protection.
