Andorra la Vella parish council has launched a national tender to award contracts for renovating the Comella drinking water treatment and filtration station (ETAP).
The works aim to upgrade a vital facility for the parish's water supply and enhance service quality and reliability. Officials highlighted that the project will target improvements to the filtration system and water quality monitoring, particularly during heavy rain or increased turbidity episodes.
The initiative also involves replacing equipment and control systems to streamline operations and ensure long-term dependability. Additional measures include installing new automated control systems alongside upgrades to electrical and supervisory equipment.
The €300,000 project will proceed in phases across 2026 and 2027. The initial stage will focus on the filtration room, followed by enhancements to the Comella water intake.
The tender notice is scheduled for publication in Wednesday's edition of the Butlletí Oficial del Principat d'Andorra (BOPA).
