Andorra Hosts Free Sustainable Energy Week Events June 9-15

Andorra is hosting a series of free events from 9 to 15 June as part of the European Sustainable Energy Week, under the slogan "For clean, safe and competitive energy". The State Secretariat for Energy Transition, Transport and Mobility and FEDA have organised the activities to engage professionals and the public in promoting energy efficiency, renewables and the climate transition.

The programme opens on Tuesday 9 June at 18:00 with a guided tour of the Gonarda transformer and distribution station, a critical part of the national electricity supply system and grid.

Wednesday 10 June features two sessions. At 9:30, the Chamber of Commerce will host a conference on best practices for climate action, targeting businesses and public institutions. From 17:00 at HiveFive Coworking, a roundtable open to all will examine how international conflicts affect energy bills, with online streaming; this will be followed around 19:00 by a talk from Alfons Puga, a strategic consultant on energy and gas markets.

On Thursday 11 June at 12:00, a visit to the Ctrasa waste treatment centre will target older residents, highlighting electricity and heat generation from waste, with free bus transport included.

The schedule continues on Saturday 13 June at 11:00 with a guided tour of the Engolasters hydroelectric path, illustrating key hydroelectric production infrastructure and the reservoir feeding FEDA's power plant.

Activities wrap up on Monday 15 June with a participatory workshop at FEDA, focusing on climate change risks to the energy sector and exploring challenges and solutions.
