Massana Council Opens Consultation on Arinsal Astronomical Viewpoint

The Massana parish council has launched a one-month public consultation on the technical project for a scenic viewpoint at Alt de la Capa in the Arinsal ski area, as outlined in an edict published in the Official Bulletin of the Principality of Andorra (BOPA) on Wednesday.

From Thursday, the council's Works Department will make available the full project documentation for review by appointment. Materials include the construction plans, a preliminary environmental impact assessment from the government's Environment and Sustainability Department, and an independent environmental impact study.

Interested individuals can book time slots with the department to examine the files. The council plans to gather any technical contributions that could be incorporated into the project, with the consultation period lasting 30 days. Formal objections may also be submitted within this window if warranted after review.

The chosen site along the Alt de la Capa ridge lies within the established Arinsal ski domain. Officials selected it based on an alternatives analysis mandated by Law 4/2023 on environmental assessments for projects, plans, and programmes.

The viewpoint is designed to provide stunning panoramic vistas in the parish's elevated terrain, combining scenic enjoyment with potential for astronomical observation. Outcomes will reflect relevant feedback received during the process.
