Andorra la Vella to install three ecoilles on Avinguda Príncep Benlloch in 2026
Municipal government will place three consolidated collection points—each with four 1,100‑litre containers—to boost recycling and better organise.
Key Points
- Three ecoilles to be installed in 2026 along Avinguda Príncep Benlloch, each grouping four 1,100‑litre containers (12 units total).
- Consolidated points aim to make collection cleaner, facilitate recycling and better organise public space.
- System preserves the usual waste separation model and is designed to be accessible and simple to use.
- Improper use or incorrect separation may lead to sanctions under current regulations.
The Andorra la Vella municipal government has acquired three new ecoilles that will be installed along Avinguda Príncep Benlloch in 2026 to improve selective waste collection. Each ecoilla groups four 1,100‑litre containers, bringing the total to twelve units placed in three strategic points along the avenue.
The units concentrate containers in single locations to make collection more orderly and cleaner, to facilitate recycling for residents, and to better organise public space. The measure is part of the rollout of the model introduced on Carrer Terra Vella, which is gradually replacing door‑to‑door collection to increase the efficiency of waste management.
Residents will be able to deposit different waste fractions in the corresponding compartments; the system preserves the usual separation model and is designed to be accessible and simple to use. The commune expects the consolidated points to increase recycling rates and streamline service operations.
“These new ecoilles represent a step forward in improving the selective collection service and in ordering public space, facilitating recycling and contributing to a cleaner and more efficient parish,” said Jordi Cabanes, councillor for Public Services and for Environment and Natural Heritage.
The commune reminds users that improper use of the installations or incorrect waste separation may lead to sanctions under current regulations. It therefore urges respect for the established time windows and the correct use of each compartment to help keep public spaces clean and ensure optimal recycling management.
