From 22 to 30 November, Andorra’s seven parishes are again taking part in the European Week for Waste Prevention (SEPR) through the ReciclemBé campaign, which this year focuses on waste from electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE, RAEE in Catalan). These wastes are steadily increasing and can have a strong environmental impact if not properly managed.
WEEE includes everyday devices such as mobile phones, computers, washing machines, televisions and gaming consoles. While these items contain valuable materials that can be recovered, they also hold pollutants that pose risks to people and the environment when disposed of incorrectly.
SEPR 2025 aims to strengthen public awareness and encourage more responsible consumption and disposal of electronic products. The initiative seeks to inform citizens about the environmental costs of production and the benefits of recycling and reuse.
As part of the campaign, ReciclemBé will run street-marketing actions across all parishes, installing informational totems that display the environmental impact of producing electronic devices and the volumes of water required in their manufacture. Exhibited items such as phones, laptops and televisions will be used to help people visualize the scale of the problem.
The campaign runs through Sunday, 30 November, and invites residents to reflect on consumption habits and make use of proper collection and recycling channels for electronic waste.
