Key Points

  • Friday showers hit all areas, heaviest southeast; snow at 1,800m.
  • Weekend: cloudy intervals, sunny periods, light afternoon showers.
  • Today: clearing mornings, possible local afternoon showers.
  • Saharan dust decreasing, boosting air quality and visibility.

The remnants of the Regina weather disturbance are weakening over Andorra, paving the way for progressive improvement with more clear skies after days of instability, according to the Meteorological Service.

Friday's showers reached all areas of the country, with the heaviest accumulations again in the southeast. Rainfall spread more broadly in the afternoon despite its light intensity, providing general irrigation benefits even if unevenly distributed. The snow level hovered around 1,800 metres that day.

Through the weekend, conditions will remain variable, featuring intervals of clouds, sunny periods, and occasional light showers, mainly in the afternoons. Snow levels are forecast between 1,600 and 1,800 metres, bringing snow to higher elevations while lower and mid-altitudes see rain. No significant downpours are expected.

Today, the morning will see skies opening up with clearer spells. Showers could still form locally in the afternoon amid the changeable pattern typical of the disturbance's tail end. Suspended dust particles from North Africa, which recently clouded skies, worsened air quality, and caused muddy rain in places, will decrease notably. This should enhance visibility and air quality as the input of these particles slows and disperses.

Winds will blow lightly from the southeast, with no notable gusts anticipated. An umbrella is still recommended for outings.
