La police en Andorre a procédé à plusieurs arrestations ce week-end liées à de graves incidents de circulation, dont deux collisions ayant causé des blessures significatives aux victimes.

On Saturday afternoon around 2pm, a 58-year-old Dutch tourist driving a van with Dutch plates towards the River Runer border on the CG-1 near km 8.1, between the Sant Eloi and River roundabouts in Sant Julià de Lòria, made an illegal U-turn. Without signalling and ignoring a double solid line in a four-lane section, he collided front-side with a 26-year-old local motorcyclist also heading south. The rider suffered severe injuries, including multiple fractures to his limbs, and was treated on site by medical emergencies before hospital transfer. He remains stable under observation. The driver tested negative for alcohol but was detained for reckless driving endangering public safety and causing injury through gross negligence. Authorities noted he ignored a nearby roundabout and aimed to head to France after spotting a Spain sign. The Batllia has processed him on those charges, withdrawn his Andorran driving permit, released him after confirming insurance coverage for the motorcyclist's damages, and confirmed his local licence suspension.

Sunday afternoon near the River roundabout on the same stretch saw a separate three-vehicle pile-up with only material damage; police are investigating if a wrong-way driver was involved.

In Encamp on Sunday night at CG-2 km 7.4 near Torrent Pregó during heavy rain, a 48-year-old Andorran man in a local-plated Renault Clio heading uphill lost control, veered off-road, and hit a guardrail. His passenger was injured and treated by firefighters and medics. He registered 1.62g/l blood alcohol, leading to arrest for driving under the influence and injuring another person. The car blocked the road; a second vehicle pulled over to assist, and a third rear-ended it, causing a secondary crash with property damage only.

Additional arrests included a 58-year-old Saturday night for 0.97g/l alcohol after fleeing a routine stop (also charged with disobeying police), plus four others recently for drink-driving (rates: 1.07, 2.62, 1.34, 2.29g/l). Two men faced charges for driving on suspended licences, and one 35-year-old in Andorra la Vella had 0.6g cocaine.
