CASS Appoints Catalan Health Law Expert Giuseppe Tufano as Legal Head

The Caixa Andorrana de Seguretat Social (CASS) board has appointed Giuseppe Tufano, a Catalonia-based specialist in health law, as its new legal director and secretary of the board.

The decision, taken at the entity's most recent board session, supports CASS's efforts to restructure amid evolving institutional demands in social security. Tufano brings extensive background in legal management and advisory work, particularly in healthcare, public procurement, and regulatory compliance. He previously led the legal team at the Associació Catalana d’Entitats de Salut (ACES) and served as a senior legal advisor in the health field. His qualifications include a master's in advocacy, along with specialist training in public contracting, health regulations, compliance, and patrimonial liability.

CASS has bolstered its legal department in recent months by adding several Andorran lawyers with court litigation and professional experience.

In the same meeting, the board contracted Deloitte Andorra Auditors i Assessors for regulatory compliance support to enhance transparency. It also approved tenders, including a national process for corporate messaging and document delivery services covering all Andorran parishes, plus two international competitions: one to upgrade the corporate data platform and another to design, develop, deploy, and maintain the CASS Clinical Work Station.
