Andorra recorded 508 births in 2025, marking a modest 1.4% increase from the 501 recorded the previous year. Despite this slight uptick, the Principality's long-term demographic trends remain concerning, with births down nearly 40% over the past decade—from 828 in 2010 and 633 in 2016 to the current figure.
The fertility rate stood at 0.83 children per woman, far below the 2.1 needed for generational replacement and among Europe's lowest levels. The general fertility rate was 24.65 births per 1,000 women aged 15 to 49, while the crude birth rate reached 5.70 per 1,000 inhabitants.
Birth rates varied by mothers' nationality. Andorran nationals had the lowest at 4.87 per 1,000 inhabitants, with a fertility index of 0.81. Non-traditional nationalities showed the highest rate at 8.03, followed by Spanish nationals at 6.19.
The average age of mothers reached 33 years, higher than the European average of 31.3 for first-time mothers in 2024. Some 56.7% of mothers were married at the time of birth.
Deaths totalled 386 in 2025, up 3.5% from the prior year. The average age at death was 77.16 years—80.33 for women and 74.19 for men—with 84.2% of burials taking place in Andorra.
In other vital statistics, 474 marriages occurred, including 429 civil unions and 45 religious ceremonies; 20 civil marriages were between same-sex couples. Separations fell 23.1% to 10, while divorces rose 7.1% to 226.
