Key Points

  • Service adds weekday openings: Dec 29-31, Jan 2 & 5, plus weekends/holidays.
  • Second year of expanded format, trialled last Christmas.
  • Joint effort by Health Ministry, SAAS, CASS, and COMA.
  • Book via 871017 or referral; 9am-1pm & 3pm-8pm at former Meritxell Clinic.

Andorra's Medical On-Call Service will extend primary care coverage throughout the Christmas period from December 25, 2025, to January 6, 2026, including extra weekday openings to handle increased demand.

Normally restricted to weekends and national holidays, the service will also operate on December 29, 30, and 31, as well as January 2 and 5. This marks the second year of the expanded format, first trialled last Christmas.

The Ministry of Health, Andorran Health Services (SAAS), Social Security Fund (CASS), and Official College of Andorran Physicians (COMA) agreed on the measure to maintain quality primary care during a time of high patient volume.

Located in the SAAS outpatient facility at the former Meritxell Clinic, the public on-call service provides continuous care from family doctors. Sessions run from 9am to 1pm and 3pm to 8pm.

Patients must book ahead by calling 871017 or receive a referral from other services, including emergency departments or health centres.
