Medical consultations in Andorra rose by 2% in the first nine months of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024, driven by increases in general practitioner visits, emergency care, and dental treatments, according to figures from the Andorran Social Security Fund (CASS).

The CASS recorded a total of 414,088 consultations across all specialties up to 30 September 2025, as detailed in its third-quarter budget execution report. This marks a clear upward trend in nearly every category, with dentistry showing the strongest growth at 6%, reaching 29,399 visits from 27,817 the previous year. The sector has surged more than 72% since 2022, when it logged just 17,048 consultations.

General practitioner visits, including both in-person and remote sessions, totalled 181,498—a 2.13% increase from 177,711 in 2024. Specialist consultations grew more modestly by 1.19%, from 160,151 to 162,060. Emergency department acts jumped 5%, from 27,032 to 28,396.

The only major declines occurred in neuropsychiatry, down 8% to 12,002 from 12,973, and among auxiliary medical professionals, which fell 2% overall to 394,795 from 401,551. Physiotherapy visits with contracted providers dropped 2% to 352,355 from 359,338, while orthoptists saw a 21% decrease to 2,476 from 3,152. Midwives recorded a slight dip from 2,034 to 2,003. Home visits also declined marginally, with generalists handling 710 compared to 781, and specialists 23 versus 44.

In contrast, podiatrists and speech therapists saw gains of 2% and 3% respectively. These patterns highlight sustained demand for primary and urgent care amid a broader slowdown in some support services.
