Nearly 93% of Andorran men and 91% of women report feeling sexual attraction exclusively to the opposite sex, according to the National Health Survey. Among those who do not identify as heterosexual, patterns differ markedly by gender.
The survey, which examined sexual attraction and contraceptive use, found that 96% of both men and women overall describe themselves as heterosexual. Men were more likely to report same-sex attraction, at 3.6%, and to self-identify as homosexual, at 2.7%. Women, meanwhile, showed higher rates of attraction regardless of gender, at 6.4%, and were more likely to identify as bisexual, at 2.8%.
On contraception, the data focused on those in stable opposite-sex relationships. Nearly all—95.8% of men and 99.3% of women—reported using modern methods. Hormonal contraception led among women at 40.4% and ranked second for men at 37.8%, behind the male condom. The male condom was the most common method for men aged 18 to 30, cited by 33.6% of men overall and 29.4% of women.
These findings highlight broad heterosexual norms in Andorra alongside gender-specific variations in sexual orientation and high reliance on established contraceptive practices.
