Firefighters extinguished a blaze on the roof of a construction building in Andorra la Vella on Friday afternoon after workers reported flames around 5:20 p.m.
The emergency call came in at approximately 17:20 or 17:25 hours from obrers on site at an under-construction property on Carrer Doctor Molines. Initial reports pointed to a spark from welding tasks igniting wooden elements on the roof. Thick smoke from the fire rose high enough to be seen across much of the central valley, prompting alerts from nearby residents.
Responders dispatched at least two fire trucks, including units from the Andorra la Vella force, along with a traffic patrol from the parish. They closed the street to traffic during the operation to ensure safety and support extinguishing efforts. The fire was under control shortly after 6:00 p.m.
No injuries were reported. Early accounts noted no personal harm, and authorities have not detailed further damage. Police and communal services assisted at the scene.
