Andorra's CASS Warns of Phishing Scam Promising Fake 250-Euro Reimbursements

The Caixa Andorrana de Seguretat Social (CASS) has warned residents about a phishing campaign using fraudulent emails that impersonate the institution to steal personal and banking details.

The emails claim a 250-euro reimbursement is pending and state that the transaction management system has approved the payment. To appear legitimate, they include a registration number (100088684468) and a reference (CASS AD-A8005W). Recipients are urged to click a link to claim the funds.

However, the sender's address—serviceo30611@correo.com.uy—does not belong to any official body. The link leads to dorzapchast.kz, a fraudulent site registered in Kazakhstan, where users are asked to submit personal data, bank details and payment methods under the pretence of processing the return.

The scam targets both individuals and businesses by promising unearned money to extract confidential information. The CASS stresses it never requests banking details by email or sends links for payments and reimbursements, as it already holds necessary data for such processes.

In response, the CASS advises ignoring the emails: do not click links, provide no information, delete the messages immediately and contact the organisation via official channels to verify any claims, including the registration number.

Public administrations do not seek personal or banking data through email or external links. The CASS is working to counter these attacks and urges vigilance against digital fraud attempts.
