Andorra Ends 2025 with Police Ratio of 1:335, Up Slightly; Fire and Prison Staff Decline

Andorra closed 2025 with a police ratio of one officer per 335 residents, equivalent to 298.7 officers per 100,000 inhabitants, based on figures from the statistics department as of 31 December. The total police staff reached 331, up 12 from 2024 and marking a 0.4% rise in the ratio.

Of these, 266 worked as operational police and 65 in administrative or technical roles, with no trainees listed. Men formed 78.2% of the force and women 21.8%, though women held 70.8% of administrative and technical posts.

Prison services remained stable at 79 staff, with 64 custodial officers and 15 in support positions. Men accounted for 78.5% and women 21.5%. This yielded a ratio of 88.7 staff per 100,000 inhabitants, down 2.2% from the previous year.

Fire services employed 137 staff, including 120 from the CPEIS firefighting corps and 17 administrative or technical workers, also without trainees. Women represented 10.2% overall, with men at 89.8%. The ratio stood at 153.8 per 100,000 inhabitants, a 2.9% decline year-over-year that equated to one fewer member.

The data highlight police expansion amid stagnation or reductions elsewhere in public safety staffing.
