**Civil Guard dismantles drug trafficking network in Barcelona area, with key arrests of two Andorran residents at Farga de Moles border**

The Civil Guard has broken up a drug trafficking operation spanning Barcelona province, resulting in eight arrests, the seizure of 7.944 kilograms of hashish and 1.681 kilograms of cocaine, along with cash, mobile phones and drug preparation tools.

The operation, named Ulex, began on 5 September 2025 in Sant Andreu de la Barca. During a security checkpoint for local festivities, officers alongside local police stopped a vehicle that tried to evade control. Inside were five kilograms of hashish, leading to investigations against the two occupants for alleged public health offences related to drug trafficking.

The Barcelona Civil Guard's judicial police unit then traced the supplier behind the shipment—who is now the only suspect in custody—and the intended recipient. Further inquiries uncovered habitual street-level sales in Sant Andreu de la Barca, pinpointing two distribution points in the town.

A pivotal moment came on 20 April 2026, when agents spotted a larger delivery in Sant Andreu de la Barca to two Andorran residents. Officers tracked and stopped them at the Farga de Moles border crossing as they attempted to enter Andorra carrying one kilogram of hashish. The pair face charges of public health offences tied to drug trafficking.

The final phase unfolded on 13 May with three house searches in Sant Andreu de la Barca and Manresa. At the home linked to the initial shipment's alleged organiser, police seized 1.898 kilograms of hashish, 1.681 kilograms of cocaine, €8,045 in cash, three mobile phones and weighing and cutting equipment. That individual was arrested for drug trafficking and also accused of facilitating illegal immigration.

One Manresa search targeted a property registered to family members of a suspect, though they did not live there. It yielded two people in irregular status, detained solely for immigration violations unrelated to the drugs case. Authorities probed whether the home aided residency regularisation.

A third search at the original five-kilogram recipient's residence recovered a small amount of hashish, with that person detained for drug trafficking.

The Civil Guard announced the operation's outcome officially on Thursday, with all detainees appearing before the Martorell court of instance. It ordered provisional prison for the suspected initial organiser.
