Firefighters from Andorra's Prevention and Extinction Corps responded to a chimney fire at a restaurant located on the CG-2 main road in Encamp parish this afternoon.

The incident began around 2:45 p.m., when a thick plume of smoke with flames became visible from the top of the building during peak hours for the eatery. Multiple units, including a team from the Canillo station, a ladder truck, and an officer's vehicle, were dispatched shortly after 3 p.m. following reports of smoke at the site.

On arrival, crews confirmed the fire had started in the kitchen's smoke extraction duct. They quickly extinguished embers, cut off airflow to prevent spread, inspected the roof for structural damage, and cooled the duct with water to eliminate hot spots. No flames reached the interior, and the blaze was confined to the upper section of the chimney.

The restaurant's kitchen and dining area, which had several customers present, remained unaffected. There were no injuries or damage to the roof or other building elements. The establishment can resume normal operations once a specialist cleans the duct.

Authorities reported the response concluded without further complications.
