In a related enforcement action that same day, officers detained a 61-year-old man for driving under the influence of alcohol following a breath test reading of 0.91 g/l, exceeding the 0.87 g/l threshold for criminal proceedings.

Authorities also arrested a 33-year-old tourist at the France-Andorra border in Pas de la Casa on Tuesday. The individual tested positive for 0.80 grams of ecstasy while entering the country.

These cases form part of an ongoing intensive police campaign targeting road safety violations, which began on 1 July, paused after Sunday, and resumed from 1 to 16 August. Earlier this month, officers made 11 arrests for exceeding blood alcohol limits, involving drivers aged 24 to 65. The highest reading came from a 57-year-old man on a personal mobility scooter at 2.98 g/l. Two additional DUI arrests followed: a 33-year-old man in Encamp at 1.72 g/l and a 31-year-old man in Escaldes-Engordany at 1.24 g/l.

Police have separately addressed other public order issues. In Andorra la Vella, officers subdued a 36-year-old man armed with an automatic knife during a nightclub brawl early Tuesday around 1:29 a.m. He faces charges of offences against collective security, public function, honour, and freedoms after insulting and threatening agents. In Escaldes-Engordany, a 19-year-old woman and her 21-year-old partner were arrested early Friday around 2:30 a.m. at a residence for mutual aggression, facing charges related to injuries to physical and moral integrity. The woman intends to file a complaint against her partner as the investigation continues.
