A 23-year-old man from La Seu d'Urgell, detained in Escaldes during the Festa Major over an alleged chemical injection that investigations failed to substantiate, has received a new two-month prison sentence—later substituted—for disobeying an expulsion order.
The man entered La Comella penitentiary centre on Friday to serve a pending three-month term from a prior conviction. That penalty, originally imposed last year for an unrelated offence, had been replaced by a three-year government expulsion order. He returned to Andorra after roughly one year, breaching the measure.
His lawyer confirmed to Diari d'Andorra that no criminal proceedings advanced on the injection claim. The 18-year-old woman involved filed no formal complaint. Tests detected no chemical substances or evidence of assault. Police had activated a device in the Escaldes nightlife area near Veedors car parks after she reported the incident around 3am and identified him at Purple Point. He carried no sharp objects, and no wound appeared on her.
The breach triggered two outcomes. The original substitution lapsed, requiring him to serve the three months. Separately, a Batllia court convicted him of serious disobedience under article 397 of the Penal Code, imposing two months' imprisonment—replaced anew by three years' expulsion. After completing the current term, he must leave Andorra and stay out for the specified period.
Police knew him from prior issues in La Seu. A summary sanction followed for the expulsion violation, but it added no further jail time. Blood tests from the initial report remain pending, though sources now emphasize the lack of proof for any injection amid personal circumstances.
