Man Arrested in Sant Julià de Lòria for Assaulting Parents Amid Marital Woes

Police in Sant Julià de Lòria arrested a 30-year-old local man overnight on suspicion of a domestic violence offence after he assaulted his parents.

The incident unfolded late on Wednesday evening at the family home in the parish. According to a police statement, the man had gone to his parents' residence seeking refuge from marital problems. He arrived in a highly agitated state and asked to drink wine, reportedly consuming just two glasses before becoming heavily intoxicated.

Neighbours alerted authorities around 11pm after hearing loud bangs and shouting from the apartment. Officers arrived and knocked repeatedly, but no one initially answered. The man eventually opened the door, displaying a defiant attitude towards the police and showing clear signs of alcohol influence.

Inside, officers saw the man's mother with a reddened face. She pleaded with them to enter and help control her son's behaviour. The father, also with facial injuries, told police his son had punched him in the face and thrown his mother to the ground.

Both parents explained to officers that the altercation stemmed from their son's relationship troubles, which had prompted his visit. No one opened the door at first despite the evident noise, police noted.

The man remains in custody pending further action. Authorities have not released additional details on injuries or court proceedings.
