Andorran police have arrested six people in recent days for drug possession offenses at the Runer River border crossing, along with a separate drunk driving case.

Officers detained four individuals over the past week at the southern frontier point. On Wednesday, they stopped a 43-year-old resident during a routine check and found 3.3 grams of cocaine. Two days earlier, on Monday, agents intercepted a 29-year-old tourist with 0.95 grams of MDMA and three LSD stamps.

Over the weekend, two more cases emerged at the same location. Saturday morning, police controlled a taxi and discovered 0.8 grams of cocaine on a 38-year-old female tourist. The following afternoon, they inspected a regular line bus from Spain and located 11 grams of cocaine in the possessions of a 30-year-old male tourist.

Authorities have charged those involved with offenses against public health.

Separately, early Saturday morning in Andorra la Vella, traffic officers detained a 43-year-old man after observing his vehicle moving erratically. A breath test revealed a blood alcohol level of 1.99 grams per litre, leading to his arrest on suspicion of a traffic safety violation. The Circulation Service had alerted police to the irregular driving.

Police confirmed the border detainees as tourists but have not disclosed nationalities for all involved or details on additional charges or ongoing probes. The incidents underscore continued checks at the Runer River to block drugs from entering Andorra.
