Andorra's Population Tops 90,000 for First Time at 90,021

Andorra's resident population has surpassed 90,000 for the first time, reaching 90,021 people as of 31 July 2026, according to figures from the government's Statistics Department. This marks an increase of 1,715 residents, or 1.9%, compared to the same month a year earlier.

Growth occurred across all seven parishes, though at varying rates. Canillo saw the strongest percentage rise at 5%, adding 316 residents to reach 6,593. Ordino followed with a 3.2% increase of 183 people, bringing its total to 5,816. Escaldes-Engordany gained 347 residents (2.2%) for 16,350; Encamp added 296 (2.2%) to hit 13,710; La Massana rose by 269 (2.2%) to 12,350; Sant Julià de Lòria increased by 170 (1.7%) to 10,318; and Andorra la Vella, the most populous parish, grew modestly by 134 (0.5%) to 24,884.

By nationality, the "other nationalities" category drove the largest absolute gain, up 798 people (5.2%) to 16,096. Within this group, Colombians rose by 249 to 1,779 (16.3% growth), Peruvians by 129 to 1,035, and Argentines by 71 to 3,350—these three accounting for 449 new residents, or 26.2% of the overall yearly change. Andorran nationals increased by 458 (1.2%) to 40,128, while Spaniards grew by 372 (1.8%) to 21,225. French nationals showed the highest percentage rise among major groups at 6.3%, adding 252 to reach 4,263. Portuguese numbers fell by 165 (1.9%) to 8,309. Foreign residents now make up 55.4% of the total, or 49,893 people.

Age breakdowns reveal 73.3% of residents (66,020) aged 15-64, 10.6% (9,499) under 15—down 2.7% yearly—and 16.1% (14,502) aged 65 or over, up 4.8%.

Municipal censuses recorded 94,596 people on the same date, a 0.5% rise from 94,169 a year prior. This leaves a 5.1% gap (4,575 people) between estimated and registered figures, narrower than the 6.6% discrepancy in July 2025. Parish-level deviations shrank in Encamp, La Massana, Ordino, Sant Julià de Lòria, and Canillo, edged up slightly in Andorra la Vella, and held steady in Escaldes-Engordany.
