43-Year-Old Tourist Arrested in La Massana for Assaulting Partner and Minor Daughter

Police in La Massana arrested two tourists on suspicion of assaulting their partners during incidents late Wednesday night and early Thursday morning.

The first detention occurred around midnight at a hotel on Avinguda Sant Antoni. A 43-year-old man, who was intoxicated and agitated, arrived at the room occupied by his partner and minor daughters. He caused a disturbance by banging on doors and walls. As his partner tried to calm him to avoid waking the children, an argument escalated. He grabbed her by the hair, and when one of the minor daughters intervened, he pushed her away.

Officers responding to the scene faced resistance when asking him to identify himself and explain the situation. He became verbally abusive and physically aggressive, requiring police to use force to subdue him. He faces charges of offenses against physical integrity, public authority, and honor. The woman showed visible marks from the assault. No details have been released on the family's nationality or whether other children witnessed the events.

The second arrest took place early Thursday after a 39-year-old tourist approached a patrol on the street. He reported a jealousy-fueled argument with his partner at a nearby bar, saying she had left and he could not find her. Officers soon located her nearby, crying and in distress. She described how he grabbed her arm, knocked her to the ground, dragged her several meters, took her mobile phone, and smashed it.

She sustained abrasions on her knee, the back of one leg, an arm, a wrist, and waist. The man was held on suspicion of injuries against physical integrity.

Both cases are under investigation.
