43-Year-Old Tourist Arrested in La Massana for Assaulting Partner and Minor Daughter

Police in La Massana have detailed two separate arrests of tourists suspected of domestic violence, one at a hotel late Wednesday and another following a public bar dispute early Thursday.

Officers first responded to a hotel on Avinguda Sant Antoni around midnight Wednesday, where a 43-year-old man arrived intoxicated and agitated at the room shared by his partner and daughters. He began banging on doors and walls, leading to an argument as she attempted to de-escalate. Police reports state he pulled her hair during the confrontation. One of their minor daughters tried to intervene and was shoved by the man.

Questioning proved difficult as he refused to provide identification and became verbally abusive and physically resistant. Officers had to use force to restrain him during the arrest. He faces charges related to injuries against physical integrity, resistance to authority, and offenses against honor. The woman had visible marks from the incident. Authorities have not released the family's nationality or details on whether other children observed the events.

Hours later, early Thursday, a 39-year-old tourist approached a patrol on the street, reporting a recent jealous dispute with his partner at a nearby bar. He said she had left and he could not locate her. Agents quickly found her close by, visibly upset and crying. She told them he had grabbed her arm, knocked her down, and dragged her several meters across the ground. He also seized her mobile phone and smashed it.

She suffered abrasions on a knee, the back of one leg, an arm, a wrist, and her waist. The man was detained on suspicion of injuries against physical integrity.

Both cases remain under investigation.
