Jaume Tàpies, Peru's honorary consul in Andorra, will hold a second itinerant passport issuance session in December to serve local Peruvian residents who missed the initial event.
The first session took place in June and processed around 50 passports, Tàpies noted. Although promoted through social media and WhatsApp groups for the Peruvian community, some people overlooked the announcements and requested another opportunity. The upcoming event aims to assist those unable to attend previously.
Tàpies dismissed online calls from some residents for a permanent consulate similar to Barcelona's, pointing to Andorra's Peruvian population of fewer than 1,000. He highlighted comparable honorary consulates in Spanish cities such as Vigo, Salamanca, and Mallorca, which handle bigger communities without dedicated offices.
