Man Arrested in Andorra la Vella for Assaulting 12-Year-Old Boy After Park Dispute

Police in Andorra la Vella arrested a 42-year-old man on Monday around midday for assaulting his partner at their shared home, after hospital staff activated a purple code for suspected gender-based violence.

Officers responded to the alert from the hospital and took the suspect into custody. He faces charges related to offences against physical and moral integrity.

This incident forms part of eight arrests by parish police over the past week for similar violations and public safety issues.

On Saturday at 7:22pm, also in the capital, authorities detained a 40-year-old man for attacking a 12-year-old boy who had previously argued with the suspect's stepson in a local park. The man now faces charges over a crime against the minor's physical and moral integrity. No additional details on the boy's injuries have emerged.

The remaining six cases involved male drivers aged 28 to 54 caught with blood alcohol levels exceeding 0.87 grams per litre. One of them also carried a 7.7cm knife in his waist bag, leading to an additional charge of illegal possession and carrying of a weapon.
