Judges rejected the serious injuries charge against both defendants, citing insufficient evidence to confirm their direct involvement. The victim, testifying at the June trial, sought to withdraw the complaint, noting he could no longer precisely recall the assailants amid the chaos of the group fight. He wished to close the matter years later.
For the convicted defendant, the court applied a mitigating factor due to his age under 21 at the time. Alongside the suspended term, he faces responsibility for court costs and €2,476 in compensation to the CASS for medical expenses.
