A 48-year-old Georgian resident on trial at the Tribunal de Corts admitted assaulting her ex-husband's current partner in April 2024, but denied the death threats alleged by the victim. The hearing opened on Monday 19 October 2026.

Reports differ on the sentence sought by prosecutors. One published on 20 October said the Fiscalía is asking for four and a half years of conditional prison and 1,500 euros for the damage caused, while accounts published the previous day reported a request for eight months of conditional prison and 1,500 euros in civil liability. The defence is asking for the sentence to be reduced to three months of conditional prison, citing her admission and remorse.

The charges relate to an incident on 5 April 2024 at an apartment in Canillo, where the woman's ex-husband's new partner was staying. According to the accused, she went to the property around ten in the morning after hearing noises and, once inside, found the woman partly undressed. She said she insulted her and recorded a roughly five-minute video, which she sent to her ex-husband and his sister. She said she acted out of rage and pain at discovering the relationship, but denied any physical assault during that first episode.

The situation escalated in the afternoon, when she returned to the flat to demand to know how long the relationship had lasted and, after nobody answered the door, broke a window with a stone and entered. According to the victim, the accused threw herself at her, scratched her face and threw a bottle of whisky, a handbag and a chair at her. The accused admitted losing control and acting violently but denied grabbing the victim by the neck or saying she would kill her. The victim maintains that the accused threatened to kill her during the second visit.

The victim also said she has suffered anxiety episodes since the incident and that the accused's ex-husband continues to receive insulting and threatening messages, which led her to block her. She said she is not claiming medical expenses.

The ex-husband, who is also the victim's current partner, confirmed that an argument took place that day and that he tried to intervene to calm his former partner. While he ratified the complaint, he said he does not want her convicted. "She is the mother of my child, she has the right to continue with her life. I just want her to let us live," he told the court. He also acknowledged difficulty paying child maintenance.

A police officer described the accused crying, highly agitated and kneeling during the intervention, while another officer confirmed that she had initially acknowledged the death threats she now denies.

In her statement, the accused said she feels remorseful and does not recognise herself in that reaction. "I'm not a violent person, but I don't know what happened to me in that moment that I lost control," she said. She also described her financial situation, saying she works up to eighteen hours a day, lives alone with her 16-year-old son and has no family support. No verdict has been reported.
