The Automòbil Club d’Andorra (ACA) has simplified its membership structure from 11 categories to three—Numerari, Beneficiari, and a new 67-euro Bàsic tier for non-drivers—following approval at its Ordinary General Assembly. The changes aim to align with evolving mobility trends in the Principality.
ACA secretary general Toti Sasplugas described the Bàsic option as targeting non-drivers interested in services like travel medical assistance and discounts, without roadside recovery. He called it “a great product that can reach many people at an affordable price” and noted the club’s hope to sustain growth. President Enric Tarrado said the overhaul creates a “clearer, more understandable” system coherent with current realities, with the Bàsic tier reflecting “a new way of getting around.”
The Numerari tier offers full services, including roadside assistance, while Beneficiari covers family members—spouses and children—of Numerari members, with free access for those under 16. The club ended 2025 with a record 12,372 members, up 357 net from 922 new sign-ups and 565 cancellations. Membership breaks down as 62% men and 38% women, including 938 children, with an average tenure of 16-17 years—surpassing 10% of Andorra’s roughly 90,000 residents. Tarrado called the penetration rate “very significant.”
Financially, 2025 closed with a 225,000-euro surplus. This year’s projected revenues stand at 2.286 million euros, with an expected surplus of 185,000 euros.
For 2026, plans include a local call center to reduce wait times and replace RACC outsourcing, broader discount partnerships, digital enhancements like the ara ACA app and Airport Claim service, headquarters upgrades, and FIA environmental certification. The Visa ACA card now enables mobile and smartwatch payments.
The assembly recognized long-serving members Josep Antoni Albós Melción, Joan Gabriel Estany, and Josep Tomàs Roca with lifetime ‘Or’ status.
In motorsport, the ACA Sports Commission will revive its youth training program in 2026 with four to six selected pilots, focusing mainly on the Andorra Mountain Automobile Championship (CAAM). Sasplugas said the CAAM’s five rounds this year—including two in Arinsal—enable the revival, as local training is more accessible than external events. He emphasized motorsport’s challenges: “The learning curve in the motorsport world is very slow if they’re not accompanied, unlike other sports.” Mid-season, the program may extend to the Andorra Rally, which will prioritize modern vehicles while retaining classics to match FIA promotion cups. CAAM regulations have been updated.
The ACA eSports program, with 27 pilots, will expand its summer campus to four weeks, continue the CAAM Virtual championship, and target international growth by 2027. New income includes FIA-backed consulting for three other clubs.
