Andorra Approves 12 Teachers in Latest Recruitment Drive
Ministry of Education finalizes external hiring for 6 teaching spots in Catalan and social sciences, appointing top 6 candidates to permanent roles.
Key Points
- 12 candidates approved after psychotechnical exam; top 6 get permanent civil servant status for 4 Catalan and 2 social sciences roles.
- 6 reserves valid 18 months for future vacancies in same categories.
- Process supports Formació Andorrana staff in non-Andorran schools; 1 spot for Encamp secondary.
- Part of 2016+ initiative converting 100+ interim positions to permanent.
The Andorran Ministry of Education has finalised its latest external recruitment drive for teaching positions, approving 12 candidates after they completed all stages, including a final psychotechnical exam this December.
The process targeted six spots—four in Catalan language and two in social sciences—with the top six scorers securing permanent civil servant status. The remaining six candidates hold reserve places, valid for 18 months under public service law. If vacancies arise in that period for the same roles and professional classification, these reserves can claim them based on their rankings.
For Catalan language, eight professionals passed the full evaluation; four received appointments, leaving four in reserve. Social sciences saw a similar outcome: four candidates qualified, with two appointed and two reserved.
This external call followed two internal processes launched last academic year, covering 20 of 26 total openings for long-term interim teachers. The six external spots primarily support Formació Andorrana staff, who teach Catalan and social sciences in Spanish and French system schools, as well as adult education programs. Only one position is for the Andorran school system: a Catalan teaching role at the secondary school in Encamp.
The drive began in October with 22 applicants. Top-ranked candidates will choose their assignments first. It forms part of a broader ministry initiative since 2016 to convert over 100 interim structural positions into permanent ones.
