The Andorran government will cover 13.5 million euros of the costs to renovate the Lycée Comte de Foix, with France funding the remaining 5 million euros, under a bilateral education agreement signed on 10 December.
The total project cost stands at 18.54 million euros, split 70-30 between Andorra and France. Andorra's share amounts to 13,509,386 euros, payable over eight years at 1,668,673 euros per first semester of each year. France will contribute 5,031,076 euros, with annual payments of 628,884 euros in the same period. These figures may be adjusted based on project needs, up to the agreed maximums, according to details released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Andorra's funds will target specific upgrades including the swimming pool, gymnasium, cafeteria, and outdoor areas. France will handle renovations to the buildings themselves.
The Ministry of Education has already allocated 1,688,673 euros in the draft 2026 budget bill and extended this commitment through multi-year budgeting until 2033.
The administrative arrangement lasts eight years and renews automatically for one-year periods. It will remain in effect independently, even if a new bilateral convention replaces the current one.
