Andorra's fire service has added a new €460,000 firefighting truck to its Massana station this December, replacing a 30-year-old vehicle as part of a broader fleet modernization plan.

The versatile BUP (Bomba Urbana Pesant) model supports urban fire suppression and carries rescue and salvage gear for traffic accidents and other emergencies. It forms part of the service's strategy to replace the oldest, most polluting units in its 40-motorized-vehicle fleet with efficient, sustainable alternatives.

This is the first truck in the fleet to feature the 112 emergency number—the international hotline now operational in Andorra—on its exterior livery.

The Andorran government funded the purchase to ensure the fleet remains effective across all emergency types while protecting firefighters and the public. The move advances the service's roadmap for delivering top-quality response capabilities.
