  • Municipal council launches dedicated point for elderly residents to process vital 'fe de vida' certificates, easing access to pensions and benefits amid high demand.

Andorra la Vella's municipal council has opened a new service point at Espai Ciutadà for processing *fe de vida* certificates, a document that verifies an individual is alive and is frequently needed to sustain pensions, benefits, and other administrative rights.

The move targets one of the most common requests from elderly residents, accounting for over 10% of the council's total procedures. Councillor for Social Affairs, Youth and Espai Ciutadà, Maria Nazzaro, said the addition aims to provide faster, more personalised support in a convenient location, cutting down on unnecessary waits.

"It's one of the most requested procedures by older people, and with this new point at Espai Ciutadà we want them to handle it more comfortably with closer attention," Nazzaro stated.

This expands the available outlets alongside the Santa Coloma Procedures Office and Casa Comuna, boosting overall accessibility for residents.

The *fe de vida* holds particular importance for seniors maintaining eligibility for ongoing entitlements. Figures from Andorra la Vella's council show 1,435 certificates processed throughout 2025, with 398 already handled since the start of this year, underscoring the steady demand.
