  • System active at three posts: Madrid (13 passports), Paris (18), Lisbon newest.
  • Advances consular modernization, cuts travel, speeds admin for overseas citizens.

Andorra's embassy in Lisbon has activated biometric data capture for issuing, renewing, and duplicating passports, enabling nationals living in Portugal to complete these processes on site rather than returning to the principality.

The service supports routine renewals as well as replacements for lost or stolen documents. It also extends to Andorrans visiting Portugal short-term who face urgent requirements. Biometric capabilities are now active at three Andorran diplomatic posts: the embassies in Madrid, Paris, and Lisbon.

Madrid and Paris launched the system in March 2025, with 31 passports processed abroad to date—13 in Madrid and 18 in Paris. The Andorran government states that this expansion advances consular modernization, aligns with global document security norms, and enhances assistance for citizens overseas by minimizing travel and accelerating administrative steps.
