Police in Andorra arrested four individuals at the River Runer border crossing between Thursday and Friday for attempting to smuggle small quantities of narcotics into the country for personal use.
The cases involved a total of about two lines of cocaine and two ecstasy pills. A 31-year-old local woman was detained on Thursday with 0.35 grams of cocaine. Later that day, a 33-year-old male tourist was caught with 0.2 grams of the same substance during a control at the Spain-Andorra frontier. On Friday, authorities stopped two 23-year-old female tourists, each carrying one ecstasy pill weighing roughly 0.50 grams and 0.45 grams, respectively.
All four—a resident and three tourists—were released within hours after fast-track judicial processing, as the amounts were deemed minimal and for personal consumption.
Separately, over the same period, police in Canillo detained a 33-year-old male driver with a blood alcohol level of 1.89 or 1.9, well above the legal limit.
