The Andorran government has approved new eligibility criteria for rental assistance, requiring applicants' rent costs to exceed 30% of their family income.
Published in the Official Bulletin of the Principality (BOPA) on Wednesday and reported by RTVA, the decree introduces several key changes. Families must now prove that no household member owns another property. It also updates income thresholds and maximum rent limits based on the number of people in the household.
Exceptions apply in cases of gender-based violence and child protection. The subsidies cover 30% to 35% of monthly rent costs. Applications are accepted year-round.
Applications submitted by the end of 2025 or during the first quarter of 2026 will take effect from 1 January 2026.
