Key Points

  • Volunteer registrations in Andorra fell 62.6% in 2025 to 178 from 476 in 2024.
  • 14 events held, matching pre-pandemic levels: 10 sports, 3 social, 1 cultural.
  • Major sports events like European Small States Games drew 530 volunteers.
  • No environmental events for six years.

Andorra saw volunteer participation in events drop 62.6% in 2025, with 178 people registering in the volunteer pool compared to 476 the previous year, according to figures released Thursday by the Statistics Department.

The 14 events matched pre-2020-2021 pandemic levels, with 10 focused on sports, three on social initiatives, and one cultural activity. Fourteen organisations coordinated them, including Assandca, the Youth and Volunteering area, and the government's Sports Department—some managing more than one.

Major events bucked the trend by drawing large numbers, often with extra recruits: the European Small States Games mobilised 530 volunteers, a new Cirque du Soleil show had 120, the 2025 Sports for All Day race attracted 56, and the Women's Day race involved 40.

Statistics officials also pointed to a six-year absence of any environmental-themed events.
