A workplace dispute in Andorra la Vella escalated into a serious physical assault in a cramped changing room, leading to judicial penalties for both men involved.
The incident began when two employees accidentally bumped shoulders while standing back-to-back at their lockers in the tightly confined space. The unintended collision sparked an exchange of insults. During the argument, one worker pushed the other, knocking his glasses to the floor and shattering them.
The man whose glasses broke retaliated by kicking his colleague in the right knee. He then punched him repeatedly in the mouth and head, knocking him down. Once on the ground, he continued the attack with further blows until coworkers entered the changing room and intervened to separate them. They found the victim bleeding from the mouth.
The injured worker received emergency treatment at the hospital, where doctors diagnosed pain in the posterior cervical muscles, abrasions and fissures on the lower lip, partial fractures of the upper and lower incisors with mobility and alveolar bleeding, and painful inflammation in the right knee. He underwent X-rays of the spine and knee. A full assessment of the injuries' extent remains pending.
Court records detail the sequence of events. The aggressor received a six-month suspended prison sentence, while the victim was given a 15-day night curfew order.
