Andorra Lottery Outlet Sells Winning El Niño Top-Prize Tenth

A Cal Tavi lottery outlet in Escaldes-Engordany sold the sole machine-generated tenth of Spain's El Niño top-prize ticket, drawn on Tuesday, January 6, securing a €200,000 payout.

The winning number 06703 appeared at 12:18pm, offering €2 million per series, or €200,000 per tenth. Cal Tavi staff confirmed to Altaveu they dispensed just one such automated ticket, calling it among the largest prizes ever distributed in Andorra. The Andorran News Agency and local reports noted the prize scattered across numerous Spanish locations, including Pontevedra, Barcelona, Granada, Málaga, Navarra, Salamanca, Madrid, Valencia, Alicante, Tenerife, Seville, Cádiz, Castellón, Tarragona, Asturias, Balearic Islands, Basque Country, Aragon, Castilla-La Mancha, Extremadura, Galicia, and Andalusia.

In Catalonia, sales points spanned Terrassa, Mataró, Cornellà de Llobregat, El Prat de Llobregat, Rubí, Roquetes, Castelldefels, Sabadell, Salou, and Mollet del Vallès.

This year's event included 55 series of 100,000 €200 tickets, sold in €20 tenths, with €770 million distributed across 36,818 prizes—the highest number in Spanish National Lottery draws. The second prize, 45875, paid €75,000 per tenth, while the third, 32615, awarded €25,000 per ticket. Additional special draws provided smaller awards.

Winners have three months from January 7 to claim prizes, according to the Andorran Gaming Regulatory Council, which oversees more than 260 outlets selling Spanish lotteries in the Principality.
