On Saturday afternoon, officers at the Baladrà frontier post discovered less than 1 gram of cocaine on a 27-year-old female tourist during a routine check. The substance appeared intended for personal use. She was arrested, and the drugs were seized. Later that day, authorities processed her case through the fast-track judicial procedure, imposing a fine and a suspended prison sentence. She has since been released.
Earlier, on Saturday at the Pas de la Casa border crossing, police arrested the same 27-year-old tourist—also carrying 0.7 grams of cocaine and 0.9 grams of hashish.
The previous night, Friday around 11:45pm, border agents at the Riu Runer crossing intercepted a 30-year-old male tourist with 2.3 grams of cocaine and 8.4 grams of marijuana.
Also on Friday evening, shortly before 6:45pm, officers stopped a 30-year-old Andorran resident at a nightclub in El Tarter. A search found 0.7 grams of cocaine in his jacket pocket, leading to his detention.
